About the service:

PrevenTell is a helpline you can call anonymously if you’re worried about your own or someone else’s sexuality. The helpline—launched by ANOVA — former Center for Andrology and Sexual Medicine—offers timely help and treatment. Since April 2006 they have been examining, diagnosing, and treating patients with sexual disorders, among other things. Those who work at ANOVA are psychiatrists, forensic psychiatrists, endocrinologists/andrologists, urologists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and nurses. As a patient you can come to the clinic by contacting the service yourself or via referral from an outpatient psychiatrist or another doctor. The service offers an opportunity to speak anonymously with someone who has a great deal of professional experience with questions and who can give advice and then help get further treatment if this is something needed. PrevenTell has a network of therapists nationwide who those who require can be referred to.

Who is this service for?

PrevenTell is a national helpline for those who feel they have lost control of their sexual behavior, who are perhaps worried about their thoughts and actions, or who are afraid they might hurt themselves or someone else.
Those who are loved ones or merely have questions about sexual problem behavior can also call.

How can the service be accessed?

Telephone or helpline, email or in person.

To what extent is the service anonymous?

Anonymous helpline.
Within the medical system, however, there is an obligation to record all calls. If you choose to stay anonymous we will keep the counseling under a spare number. It will not be possible to connect that number with your identity. If you would become a patient of ours your social security number will be required.
